Sarah Mabry recently graduated with B.F.A. in Painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2019. Mabry's work is tied to memories, nostalgia, and exciting color stories. Her current body of work explores the relationship between objects and memory. Beginning during the height of COVID-19, Mabry's work focused on the places in the world that were no longer being occupied. Chairs such as stadium seats, barstools, and barber chairs were left to collect dust while the world quarantined. Mabry's work invites the viewer to acknowledge that a chair is more than just an object. They are where you have engaging conversations, where you go to think, where you wait for hard news, and much more.
